Chinese Acupuncture

What is Acupuncture?

How can Acupuncture help me?

Please consider our tiny needles before a scalpel...

What can I expect during a treatment?

We do not deny the need for Western medicine in the grand scheme of our health needs, but over the years, Michelle and Melissa have saved enough people from unnecessary surgeries that we can implore you to try acupuncture first.

Do not be afraid. We are here to guide you compassionately and slowly as you become acquainted with this new old process.  We use only new, sterile stainless steel needles, practice Clean Needle Technique as required by the National Certification Committee for Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine, and have received extremely competent training from two terrific AOM colleges.

But yes, acupuncture IS the insertion of tiny needles into the skin and oftentimes muscles that elicit electrical/energetic changes in the body.

We have been trained to treat a very long list of ailments, aches, pains, and internal conditions.  You do NOT need to have a diagnosis for your symptoms before you see us.  You do not need an MRI or x-ray.  We just need to know what YOU are going through.

On the first treatment - which lasts 90 minutes - the practitioner will do a thorough intake, asking questions that are relevant and seemingly irrelevant to why you are coming in.  Then, the practitioner will determine a treatment strategy and start to apply it, almost always starting with acupuncture.  Other modalities to become familiar with may be cupping, gui sha, tui na, moxibustion, and Chinese herbs. Remember that the treatment is always yours , and you may deny any part of it.  We will always ask you for your permission to perform any unknown modality.
